  • Andrew Nickolaou

    Founding Attorney

    Andrew Nickolaou, Esq., B.C.S., is a founding partner at Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A. He practices almost exclusively in divorce, marital and family law. Andrew also handles record expungements and sealings. Andrew and his partner, Ophelia Bernal-Mora, Esq., B.C.S., joined forces in March 2016 to form the unique and boutique husband and wife family law team at Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A. Together, Andrew and Ophelia take a practical and team-based approach to all of their cases and clients to deliver the highest quality experience and representation. Andrew was born in Chicago, Illinois and relocated to Florida as a teenager, where he has lived since. He graduated from the University of Florida, with honors, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts. He then proceeded to law school, where he earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Barry University – Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando with high honors in the top 5% of his class. During law school, Andrew focused on the art of courtroom trial advocacy as an active member of the Barry Law School Trial Team, a National Championship winning trial advocacy team. Besides participating as a member in multiple national competitions, Andrew also was the champion of the law school trial team intramural tournament. Andrew also received the Book Award, the honor of achieving the highest grade in the class, for Trial Advocacy. In addition to his courtroom training, Andrew focused heavily on legal research and writing and was a respected member of the Barry University Law Review, where he served as a note and comment editor. In respect of Andrew’s legal research and writing skills, he served as a writing center leader in the law school, as well as a research assistant for professors on multiple occasions. Andrew also received the book award for Legal Research and Writing. Andrew has had the experience of participating in various internships, including a judicial internship with the Honorable Anthony Johnson in the 9th Circuit Court, and serving as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida. Andrew formerly worked at Katz & Phillips, P.A. as a paralegal and Associate Attorney. As a paralegal and attorney, Andrew has quickly developed the skills necessary to aggressively represent his clients in all aspects of his practice areas. Andrew Nickolaou has been certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Family Mediator in 2020, and is looking forward to being able to provide Private and Pro Se Mediations. Andrew lives in the Orlando, Florida area with his beautiful wife and children. He is an active member in the community, Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and serves as a Guardian ad Litem Attorney with the Orange County Legal Aid Society’s Guardian ad Litem program.

  • Ophelia Bernal-Mora

    Founding Partner

    Ophelia Bernal-Mora, Esq., B.C.S. is a founding partner at Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A. She is one of fifteen attorneys in Central Florida, Orange County that is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law. She practices exclusively in family law, including divorce and separation, child support, and child custody. Ophelia earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University. Throughout and after law school, Ophelia’s experience has been in all aspects of family law. After finishing law school in 2004, she joined the 5th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. During her time at the State Attorney’s Office, Ophelia handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases, and conducted numerous bench and jury trials. This was greatly beneficial in learning her trial litigation craft and gaining the experience to advocate zealously for her family law clients through all aspects of litigation. In 2006, Ophelia went into private practice with a law firm, where she focused on family law and criminal defense. As a private practice family law attorney, she has handled divorces, both contested and uncontested, paternity cases, child support, modifications, domestic violence injunctions, custody cases, alimony, and high-net worth/complex asset distribution cases. In March 2011, she opened the Law Office of Ophelia Bernal-Mora, P.A. where she focused her practice exclusively on Divorce/Family/Marital Law. Ophelia has substantial evidentiary trial experience in both Criminal and Family Law cases and has effectively represented well over a thousand clients in her career. Ophelia has garnered numerous awards throughout her career, both from the legal community and from local organizations and publications. Recently, she was named a Family Law Distinguished Member by Lawyers of Distinction, which recognizes the top 10 percent of attorneys in the country. She has also been named a Top 100 Family Lawyer by The National Advocates, recognizing the best attorneys in each state.   • Patrick Cobb

    Associate Attorney

    A Florida native, Patrick Cobb, Esq. graduated with Honors from Florida State University cum laude as an undergraduate for Criminology/Psychology. During law school at Barry University – Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, he participated in the Honor’s Concentration Program which specializes in Family and Children Law. Patrick Cobb’s client-centered philosophy developed while revolving his studies and various internships in Orange and Osceola County, Florida. He spent three years in law school forming his grad paper around ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and worked for the state with a background in DCF Children’s Legal Services for two years. He is currently involved with the Family Collaborative Clinic in Orange County, taking on clients from low-income families to help with financial, mental health, and legal needs during separation using an interdisciplinary approach for negotiations in a non-litigious manner. Patrick’s six months as an intern in the Ninth Circuit with now-retired Judge Dawson – who paved the way for how proceedings related to children should be handled – provide him with a deeper understanding for children that are always inevitably caught up in this line of work. Patrick Cobb lives in the Orlando area, and is active in the local legal community. In his spare time, he also runs a custom auto shop called Cobb’s Customs LLC.
